Professional Experience
Mr. Yared’s extensive business experience was gained while serving as counsel for Foremost Corporation of America, a publicly-held insurance holding company, for more than 25 years, with the last 14 years as Senior Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel. He played a key role in the auction and sale of the company which, when completed in March, 2000, yielded $812 million for shareholders.
Mr. Yared has extensive experience in general corporate legal and management skills of benefit to most businesses, having handled projects ranging from a 600 acre planned unit real estate development, to defense and successful resolution of a mass tort litigation. Mr. Yared also helped to establish the first privately-insured, manufactured housing pass-through security. More than $200 million of such securities were placed with institutional investors from 1982 through 1985. Mr. Yared has also represented a Michigan-based mutual insurance company in a demutualization, converting the insurer to stock-based ownership where he then represented the stock insurer in an SEC registration and initial public offering of stock which raised $6.8 million of equity capital.
