Professional Experience
Mr. Schnelker has extensive experience in general corporate, finance and real estate matters that are of benefit to most businesses. He has represented, and continues to represent, real estate developers, manufacturing companies and other growing business with operational, employment and other matters with particular expertise in real estate and inventory financing as well as real estate acquisition, development and sale transactions. In 2007 alone he represented buyers and sellers in real estate transactions valued in the aggregate at more than $50 million including transactions involving shopping centers, apartment buildings, mobile home parks, private universities and Michigan government agencies.
Pro Bono/Professional/Community Activities
Former member of the Character and Fitness Committee for the State Bar of Michigan and former member of the State Bar of Michigan Representative Assembly. Author and lecturer, Commercial Lending in Michigan (National Business Institute, 2002). Past President of Rockford, Michigan chapter of Business Network International. Member of the Board of Directors for the Builders Exchange of Grand Rapids and Western Michigan and the Board of Directors of the American Legion Boat and Canoe Club Council. Member of the Commission on Church Order of the Reformed Church of America. Mr. Schnelker is also a co-founder of the Santa Brings a Law Suit© program in Grand Rapids. The program provides business suits to job placement and training organizations focused on providing job skills and opportunities to the displaced or less fortunate members of the community.
